Police in Thika town are probing a case where a middle-aged man assaulted his girlfriend for allegedly befriending and inviting a prostitute in her house at Nyacaba village.
Jason Gachaga, 30, is said to have assaulted Grace Wanjiku Muguri, 26, yesterday evening in her house when he found her with the friend, which he accused of being a prostitute.
According to Wanjiku Jason found her with a child and a friend in the living room and ordered the friend to leave the house immediately and started quarrelling with her.
She said that the moment her friend left, the man immediately pounced on her and started beating her up asking her why she was befriending a prostitute and inviting her to her house.
“Gachaga started to beat me the moment my friend left asking me stupid questions yet he had no evidence to prove what he was saying,” Wanjiku said.
The friend, Priscilla Njeri, said that Wanjiku was screaming the moment she left the house and she immediately alerted the neighbours who went to her rescue.
Njeri said that the irate neighbours found Wanjiku unconscious and bleeding while the boyfriend had already fled through the back door of the house.
“Wanjiku was lying on the floor unconscious, bleeding through her nose but the boyfriend was already gone probably through the back door,” Njeri said.
Thika West OCPD confirmed the incident and assured that they have launched an investigation to apprehend the boyfriend who is on the run.
The victim is nursing severe injuries at Thika level 5 hospital and she is now in a stable condition.
