Omar said Cord will not leave anything to chance, adding that the coalition will form government come next year.

Omar stated that the coalition is determined to win the 2017 general election.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee Party should prepare for a tough battle in next year’s elections,” he said.

Speaking on Tuesday at Wiper Party headquarters in Lavington Nairobi, after a National Executive Committee meeting, Omar further stated that the party is in Cord to stay.

“Wiper is in Cord and will work with other affiliate parties within the coalition to make sure that the Jubilee government is send packing come next year,” he added.

The Mombasa senator asked affiliate parties under Cord to remain united stating that unity will ensure that they win the 2017 elections.

Omar at the same time assured Wiper members of fair nominations ahead of next year's polls.

He said the party will conduct its primaries in February and March next year.

There have been concerns among Wiper members on whether the party will conduct fair and transparent nominations in readiness for the 2017 elections.
