With just less than three months remaining to the August elections, Mombasa Governor hopeful Hezron Awiti has asked his rivals to prepare for a grueling battle. The Nyali MP who joined the little-known Vibrant Democratic Party after ditching Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper Party following many months of muscle flexing with Senator Hassan Omar in the race for the party ticket to contest for Mombasa governor has accused the current county leadership of failing to live to the expectations of the locals.According to the lawmaker, the Governor Hassan Joho-led administration has turned into a talk-shop that has failed to address critical issues bedeviling the county residents. While urging residents to reject the incumbent in the August contest, Awiti said time has come for the locals to elect the right individuals and not parties."We have learnt our lessons and this time, we will not look at the party but an individual who will help turn around the situation in Mombasa,” he said while dismissing claims that his party is affiliated to any coalition.
