Kisii county water environment and natural resources county executive committee member Mr Moiro Omari has said that plans to start water rationing in the county are underway.
According to him, water shortage has hit the county hard as many water points flocked throughout the day.
Speaking to journalist in Kisii town, Omari said water level have gone down hence worrying the county
“The department of water in the county has been cornered into conducting water rationing because it has not rained for a long while,” said Omari.
"The rationing will start as from next week if it doesn't rain before then," he added.
He also noted that they will, however, minimise the rationing at public facilities especially hospitals in the county
“We will ensure that the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital is not affected by the exercise and all Public facilities such as hospitals will not so much be affected," Moiro added.
