A young girl was the talk of town in Lela after she fought a man who tried to rape her at night.
The incident happened on Monday night after the girl had retired to bed in her house which is separate from her parents'.
The girl forgot to lock the door giving the rapist an easy task.Drizzling rain on the sheet-roofed house made noise hindering any call for help.
The unidentified man threatened the young girl with a knife to get her silent.
The girl tried scaring the man that she was HIV positive but the invader rubbished the claims.
“I never wanted to be stubborn. I acted like I was okay. He was all over my body touching me. I told him I was ready as long as he was going to leave me unharmed,” she said.
In the process, the man got carried away and dropped his knife. The victim carefully took it and stabbed him in the face twice before bursting out of the house calling for help.
“The stranger escaped, but with scars on his face, it will be easy for us to identify him. My daughter was brave,” said Sarah Bala, the mother of the victim.
A team led by Maseno police OCS Mr Langat is looking for the culprit.
