At least 12 people were confirmed dead with two others sustaining serious injuries in a road accident at Salgaa along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The accident occurred on Sunday morning at around 3am and involved a Great Rift Shuttle van and a Mercedes-Benz Actros.
According to Nation, no passenger on the shuttle survived.
"All the 11 passengers and the driver of the shuttle died on the spot," said a witness.
Confirming the accident, Rongai OCPD Japheth Kioko said the accident occurred when the matatu driver lost control of the vehicle after he hit a cow before colliding with the truck.
The driver of the and his turn boy sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Nakuru Level Five Hospital.
