Tiaty Member of Parliament Asman Kamama has decamped from the Jubilee Party.

Kamama has joined Maendeleo Chap Chap led by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.

The MP said on Monday he will defend his seat in the August 8 election.

Friday last week, Kamama dismissed initial reports that he had ditched the President’s party.

“I am not planning to leave President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party,” he said on Friday.

Kamama is believed to have ditched Jubilee because of the stiff competition for the ticket.

Reverend Simon Kiuta (Jubilee) and Baringo Speaker William Kamket (Kanu) will be vying for the parliamentary seat currently held by Kamama.

He was, not long ago, linked to the killing of Tiaty MP aspirant Pepe Kitambaa and Kibet Cheretei (MCA, Loyamorok Ward).
