There was power blackout in Kenya's capital city Nairobi, Coastal and Mt Kenya regions, bringing electricity-dependable services to a halt, Monday morning.
Kenya Power Network Management general manager Daniel Tare said the outage was as a result of a technical hitch at the Nairobi North Power Substation, in Ndenderu.
In a statement, he said: "Supplies from Olkaria geothermal fields to the city were cut off. Our technical teams are on the ground to normalise power supply as quickly as possible. We regret any inconvenience caused.''
Power was however restored minutes later.
"We have restored power supply to most parts of Nairobi City and Mt Kenya. We are also normalising supplies to Coast Region,'' Kenya Power said in an update.
