No sooner had it reached in the hands of the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi than it was thrown out on grounds of being misplaced.
This is how a petition by lawyer Adrian Kamotho seeking to oust Chief Justice David Maraga through parliament suffered blow.
"The petition against the Chief Justice which I have received is misplaced, a long shot, pedestrian and a fishing expedition,” Muturi said.
The lawyer hit Newsheadlines following a Monday afternoon move of writing to parliament accusing the CJ, his Deputy Philomena Mwilu and five other members of the commission for misconduct.
For the last two weeks AG Githu Muigai left office, word has been going round that their were plans to hand him CJ Maraga's job.
The CJ has been under pressure from Jubilee since a controversial ruling last year that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta's win thwarted following a case filed by his main rival Raila Odinga.
The move by the speaker to oust the motion was welcomed by residents who praised Muturi saying he was independent.
"Its time all the leaders copied from the speaker and they became independent," said Lawrence Nyaanga a local.
This was also echoed by politian and activist Rael Otundo who said time for politics was gone and everybody should be let to perform their duties.
"The judiciary is independent and its time everyone is given time to do their jobs without interference," said Otundo.
