Senator Sam Ongeri and other leaders in court [Photo/nation.co.ke]
The Kisii High Court has dismissed a petition challenging the election of Senator Sam Ongeri.
Justice Winfrida Onkwany in her judgment noted that the petition lacked enough evidence to warrant a nullification.
She directed the petitioners to pay Sh8 million to cater for the costs of the petition.
Prof Ongeri's re-election had been challenged by Charles Obera and George Ogake who argued that the poll was not conducted in accordance with the law.
The two wanted the court to invalidate Ongeri's win, and order for a fresh poll.
