Speaking to a mainstream media station Monday afternoon, Dr. Ndii said that the meeting was necessitated by the need to move the country together through reasoning that brings both sides of the political spectrum.

He affirmed his support for the initiative by President Uhuru Kenyatta

''We have seen the logic that we should reason together, therefore, we have decided to support their initiative. We have, however, said that our concurrence is not a carte blanche, it is not unconditional and we expect the initiative, and we have been assured as much, that it will be owned and dictated by the people. This is not a state initiative or a political initiative,'' Dr. Ndii said.

He reiterated that there was a need for Kenyans coming together to make sure that the country moves forward united, saying that the unity demonstrated by Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga would make it easier to move forward the people's agenda.

Ndii's words come after speculation on social media that he was not happy with the meeting between the two leaders.
