Former Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Titus Ndundu has been arrested for defilement.
Ndundu spent the night at Masii Police Station after he was nabbed for allegedly defiling a minor.
Police arrested the politician at his home in Ikombe, Yatta Sub County on Sunday.
Confirming the incident, Mwala DCIO Joseph Muguna said the suspect allegedly defiled a 16-year-old orphan in Nairobi between May 13th and 14th, 2018.
Muguna said the case was first reported at Wamunyu Police Station in Mwala Sub County where the girl hails from.
He said the police had been hunting for the suspect who went missing after committing the crime.
Muguna condemned the act stating that leaders should be at forefront of fighting such vices and not being the perpetrators.
The 40-year-old 2013 polls gubernatorial aspirant will appear in court today and be charged with defilement.
