[Photo|Daily Nation]IEBC has called off Saturday repeat presidential poll in Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, and Migori counties indefinitely.In his update over the election held Thursday, while at the Bomas of Kenya, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati, said a new date would be announced.IEBC had postponed the election, citing security concerns in the said counties, after residents turned violent, barricading roads using stones and bonfires, preventing ferrying of election materials.However, the planned election, had faced opposition from residents of the four counties, religious leaders in Kisumu, LSK Nyanza region branch and the county governments.
During Friday's postponement, Chebukati also cited security concerns, saying IEBC staff had been threatened in the region.
