Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia have made history after qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage on away goals and becomes the first Kenyan club to do so.
Gor Mahia was beaten 2-1 by their South African opponents Supersport United for the second leg match played at the Lucas Moripe stadium in South Africa.
However, the away goal scored by Francis Kahata in the 61st minute made all the difference for Kogallo after they managed a 1-0 win against the South Africans in a match played at the Machakos Stadium ending the match on a 2-2 aggregate.
Among the two goals scored by Supersport one was an own goal courtesy of Gor Mahia's Shakava.
The win now puts a smile on the Kogallo team that has been struggling with finances in recent days, since once in the group stage of the CAF competition, they will be handed a financial chest worth Sh27 million.
CAF confederation cup is the second tier African club competition, you can equate it to the Europa League in Europe.
Kenyans have taken to social media to congratulate the Kenyan soccer giants.

Domestically I am not a fan of Gor Mahia, not at all. In KPL, Gor is number 18 on my favorites standings... But on Continental assignment, patriotism kicks in.. I hope the team progresses further than just the group stage. The team got formidable potential— Mwirigi (@mwirigy) April 18, 2018.
Gor Mahia Team didn't even have travel visas 24 hours to their match while Super Sport Team enjoys massive sponsorship package from the giant broadcaster. However, at the end of it, it's Gor Mahia that has qualified for the CAF group stages.Congratulations Kogalo! #CAFCC— Ohaga Ohaga™ (@ohagaohaga) April 18, 2018.
