Powerful Deputy Chief of Staff in the county government of Nyamira will now have to spend a month in cold pending disciplinary hearing, cabinet has ruled.
Mr. Kefah Mocheche, the right hand man of Governor John Nyagarama, was suspended following cabinet deliberations over 'gross misconduct.
"You will be required to appear for disciplinary proceedings within this one month over gross misconduct," read the letter, whose details were revealed on Wednesday evening.
Sources privy to ongoing intrigues within the county government of Nyamira intimates that Mocheche insulted deputy governor Amos Nyaribo.
The Deputy Governor is temporarily in charge of the county for two weeks now after Governor Nyagarama flew to US for treatment.
But in a rejoinder, Mocheche dismissed claims that he had been suspended instead insisting that Nyaribo had sacked him.
"It was not a suspension but a dismissal. I will handle this matter and the war has just started," he said in a text.
Bitter succession battles have rocked the county, with sources saying that the cabinet may have suspended Mocheche on grounds that he has been supporting embattled county secretary Erick Onchana, who was reportedly dismissed by Nyagarama.
