Four bodyguards and a driver escorting Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua wife, Lilian, have perished in grisly road accident.

The accident occurred on Tuesday midnight near Lukenya on Nairobi-Mombasa highway, according to the police.

Police said the officers in Nissan Tida Saloon died when their vehicle collided head-on with a Toyota Land Crusier that was overtaking another vehicle.
