The International Criminal Court based at the Hague has confirmed the receipt of a petition seeking the probe of NASA leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.

Two Kenyans had filed a petition against the two leaders calling for the court to investigate the two over what they termed as “inflammatory conduct” and other crimes that fall within the jurisdiction of the court.

The petitioners, Martin Nkari, and Kenneth Otieno, who are the secretary and chairman of the International Policy Group (IPG), respectively, jointly instructed a Canadian law firm to formally ask ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda to launch investigations into the Opposition leaders, citing cases of violence being witnessed by Nasa demonstrations against the electoral body, IEBC.

It is not yet clear whether the court will move ahead with investigations.
