The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has expressed disappointment after Commissioner Dr Roselyn Akombe resigned.
The Commissioner resigned Wednesday early morning, citing security concerns and threats to her life, adding that IEBC secretariat is very divided, on partisan lines.
Through Twitter, IEBC said: "We regret the resignation of Commissioner Dr Akombe. We will provide more details in due course."
Akombe quit, when she had traveled to Dubai, to inspect printing of ballot papers, at the Al Ghurair printing and Publishing firm, after which she flee to New York.Despite issuing her resignation letter, Akombe confirmed the resignation, through a phone call on a local television station, saying she was frustrated and that her life was under threat.
She however took credibility on chairman Wafula Chebukati, saying he is a good person, but he is under siege.
