Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed has been arrested over hate speech and incitement to violence allegations.
The MP posted this on Twitter Friday morning:
The vocal lawmaker is currently being held at Homa Bay Police Station and will be arraigned in court.
According to sources, Junet was arrested at Homa Bay airstrip while on his way to Migori.
Reacting to his arrest, Mbita MP Gladys Wanga said, "Let's meet at Homa bay Police Station to demand answers on Hon Junet's arrest. Intimidation tactics by a failed regime is unacceptable!" she tweeted.
