A fire has reportedly broken out at Kenyatta University.

According to a Facebook update by KUTV, the fire razed down the whole of the old administration block in what undertones suggest could be a result of student politics. 

"This raging fire consumes the Kenyatta University Old Admission block as students riot. This comes a few days after the election of Student Leaders," read the post. 

Reports from the institution say that prior to the fire, there were chaos with property being vandalised by students.

No clear reason has been given for the chaos.
