A road accident has happened on Tuesday at Narok, few kilometers from town, involving a Kisii-bound Daima Connection bus.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened at Narok at Siyapei river along the Narok-Mai Mahiu where the plunged into a river killing almost all passengers.
However, unconfirmed details state that five people have so far been confirmed dead in the accident that happened at around 3 p.m.
Fresh reports have established that 17 people have died so far.
The death toll has risen to 19, while 40 others are still receiving treatment at the Narok hospital.The two succumbed to their injuries while going on with medication.
Families of the deceased have camped outside the Narok Referral hospital as they seek to identify bodies of their relatives.
Apparently, most of those who died on the spot drowned in the River Siyapei.
