A 32 year old man has killed himself after stabbing his 9-year-old daughter to death at Mlolongo town in Mavoko, Machakos County.
Ibrahim Kairu, a taxi driver allegedly stabbed murdered his Standard six biological daughter Faith Muthio before turning to himself at Kasina Estate on Thursday.
The pupil at Real Junior Academy in Mlolongo died on the spot following the 3.30 pm incident.
Mlolongo assistant county commissioner David Mukung’ confirmed the incident.
Mukung' said the man engaged in fist fight with his wife Catherine Mulinge before killing the girl.
“The wife left the deceased for two days after quarreling , she returned on Thursday before the late husband engaged her in fresh fight,” Mukung' said.
He said the deceased turned to their daughter and stabbed her on the chest using a knife killing her on the spot after the wife escaped.
Mulinge reported the matter to Mlolongo chiefs office and was put under police protection.
Mukung' said police officers rushed the deceased to Shalom Community Hospital in Athi River for treatment where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
He condemned the incident stating that people shouldn't take law into their hands by ending own lives and those of their family members.
Mukung’ said couples should seek counseling services or seek divorce earlier to avoid such incidences.
The bodies were moved to City Mortuary.
