In his suit, the vocal politician wants the state to reinstate his citizenship and allow him back into the country.

Miguna also wants the court to provide orders compelling the government to issue him access to immigration and customs clearance.

The self-styled NRM general was deported to Canada last week amid claims that he was in Kenya illegally.

His lawyers, however, argued that someone born in Kenya to Kenyan parents cannot lose their citizenship, but the government through immigration boss Gordon Kihalangwa insisted that Miguna's deportation was done within the confines of the law.

Meanwhile, the vocal lawyer on Saturday announced that he will be traveling to Kenya as soon as possible.

Speaking during an interview with international media from his Toronto office, Miguna noted that his lawyers had already filed a case adding that once its heard and dealt with he would jet back.

"As soon as I can go. I know my wife will not be happy to hear this, but some of these things you have to decide how you want to live your life and the legacy you want to leave behind. As we speak, my lawyers have filed a petition today.” he said.
