NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi has responded to the meeting that happened yesterday at the president's Harambee House office between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
In a statement titled ''The Deal between Uhuru and Raila'', the Amani National Congress Party leader rejected the idea that the meeting represented the NASA position, calling it a deal between two people.
''Many questions have been asked about the events of yesterday at Harambee House. The most asked question is where were the other three NASA principals. The answer is we were neither aware, briefed or invited. This leads to the question, was this a culmination of the issues that NASA has been agitating for, the answer is no!... NASA advocates for an all-inclusive dialogue and not a deal between two people. An MOU between two people does not constitute a national dialogue'' Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi was speaking today from Mombasa County flanked by two Members of Parliament.
The development throws a spanner in the works, fueling speculation that NASA may be on its deathbed.
Mudavadi has maintained that NASA remains committed to dialogue but that dialogue has to be about Kenyans and not two individuals.
The meeting between Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi caught many Kenyans by surprise, coming just hours after U.S Secretary of State Rex Tillerson touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
