Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has stepped down as in independent candidate in the gubernatorial race, leaving former MP Lee Kinyanjui as a clear favourite. This was after meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto at State House. The governor has now vowed to campaign for Jubilee nominee Lee Kinyanjui. Mr Kinyanjui defeated Governor Mbugua in last month’s Jubilee Party primaries.
