Baringo South Member of Parliament Grace Kipchoim has died.
Reports indicate that the MP died after a long battle with illness.
The Jubilee MP made history when she won the parliamentary seat while admitted in hospital.
This was her second term in office, having successfully defended her seat during the August general election.
During the August 2017 election, Kipchoim garnered 9,299 votes against her closest challenger Charles Kamuren who secured 8,905 votes.
Under her leadership, Baringo South constituency was ranked position 15 in management of Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
In a past interview with The Standard, Kipchoim noted that the security in the region was one of her main priorities in her second term.
"My joy is to see my people get back to their homes and be able to take their children to school without fear," she said.
