After months of speculations, Ex – Mombasa senator Hassan Omar shared podium with President Uhuru Kenyatta Serani grounds in Mombasa.
In what he termed as frustrations within the opposition, Omar bolted out of the Wiper party without disclosing his next move.
And on Sunday, Omar was among top coastal Jubilee politicians who welcomed Uhuru before delivering a speech thereafter.
“I made my decision and it is irreversible and that is my stand. I don’t regret and whoever with questions, I don’t care,” he said.
“We are against the academic dwarfism and when you come here, just know that we have clever people around,” he said, apparently in a jibe to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
The former Kenya Human Rights Commissioner lost to Joho, a close ally of opposition leader Raila Odinga, who is predominant in coastal politics.
He has been having issues with Joho and in the past, he accused him of corruption and underperformance as county boss.
