The ODM party has called off its much awaited primaries ahead of the general elections.

An official communique from the party's secretariat issued Tuesday morning said that they had postponed the exercise to a future date yet to be communicated.

"Due to unavoidable circumstances, the National Elections Board of the ODM party has called off party primaries scheduled for Nairobi County today Tuesday 25th April 2017," read the communication in part.

"A new date will be announced later in the day," added the letter signed by the party's communication director Philip Etale.​
