Days after he jetted to US for specialised treatment over failing limbs, Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama family woes persists following hospitalisation of one of his sons.
On Friday, Nyagarama left the country after handing over albeit temporarily to his deputy Amos Nyaribo.
"This is to inform you that from 10th May 2018 I will be out of the country for specialised treatment. You are required to discharge my duties," he said in a secret letter.
This is the first time the ODM governor is dealing with serious health challenges since his medical history indicates otherwise.
And a senior government official who spoke in confidence, said Nyagarama's son, Ndemo Nyagarama, is now under life support at Nairobi Hospital following deterioration of his health.
"I can confirm that Ndemo is under Life Support. He is suffering from Fungal Meningitis which is at advanced stages.
"At the moment, it is dangerous even for the father to know because it might even worsen his health," said the source.
Mr. Ndemo's health status is in public domain given his sister, Emily Nyagarama, had confirmed that he was undergoing treatment.
Amidst the ailments, Nyagarama is also facing hard times in controlling succession battles which have rendered the county defective.
