Nyamira governor John Nyagarama has been taken ill in the US, two weeks after spending in a Nairobi Hospital.
The second time governor is reportedly suffering from failing limbs and has been out of action for the last couple of weeks.
In a letter sent by Nyagarama to his deputy Amos Nyaribo, the county boss instructs his principal assistant to take over albeit for few weeks he will be out of the country.
"I wish to bring to your attention that I will be travelling outside the country from 10th May 2018 for medical checkup and related medical issues.
"During my absence, you will be required to discharge all official duties on my behalf apart from nominating, appointing or dismissing workers as stipulated in article 179(5)," read the letter.
His flight had been scheduled on Thursday but was postponed to Friday. Details about the American hospital where he is being hospitalised remain scanty.
Following his predicaments, Nyaribo is said to have cancelled a trip to Singapore to temporarily take charge in the South Nyanzan County.
"I am not travelling to Singapore. Ignore the ongoing rumours on various social media forums," he posted in one of the groups.
