Governor Nathif Jama's re-election bid on Monday received a massive boost after one of the gubernatorial aspirants stepped down to support him in the incoming general elections.

Announcing the new developments at his Garissa home, Governor Jama revealed that Omar Abdi Gabey, following a political pact issued by elders from Rer Ali sub clan which is part of the larger Awliyahan community.

They elders' delegation was led by Auliyahan community Ugaas Hamut Sheak, Sagale Abdi Hilowle.

"Following extensive consultations with his family members and respected clan elders, my brother Omar Gabey has eventually pulled out of the Gubernatorial race for the greater interest of the community and the residents of Garissa County. I hereby wish publicly take this opportunity to pass my sincere thanks Omar, Ugaas Hamut and all clan elders who have played a very big role in the mission to bring together this family," stated Jama in his speech."Omar Gabey is a very resourceful team player who was a significant force during the campaigns. I assure that we will good working relationships with all the team players and the community at large in pushing forward a transformative agenda for our county," added Jama.The incumbent added that divergent political opinions ought not be allowed to divide the electorate but bring them together for a common goal.
