Widow to renowned Foreign Affairs minister Robert Ouko, Ms Christabel Ouko perished on Monday evening in a fatal car crash along Kericho-Awasi road.
Reports indicate that she was driving home along with her son who lost control at Kipsitet junction before the car they were travelling on veered off the road killing her on spot.
Her brother- in –law Maurice Seda confirmed the incident adding that her body was transferred from the scene to Sialom hospital in Kericho.
“She was being driven by her son and sadly they lost control and died on spot. Other occupants are in a critical condition and are admitted in Kericho,” he told Standard digital.
He added: “She was going to Koru home after attending Anyang Nyong’o’s inauguration in Kisumu and she was I good health.”
Mrs Ouko was married to slain former Foreign Affairs Minister Robert Ouko, whose murder in 1990 attracted internal attention.
Until his death, Ouko was considered as one of the most powerful minister in retired president Daniel Moi’s government.
