Hundreds of parents attached to Bocharia Primary on Monday stormed Masaba North education offices to protest alleged mistreatment of children by the school administration.
Operations in the Deputy County Commissioner's compound in Keroka came into standstill with parents seeking explanation on why students were forced to fetch water during class hours.
"We want to know why the administration is compelling students to fetch water during class time yet there is money to contract somebody to do the job," said Alex Nyabwari, a lead protestor.
Earlier, the parents who were also carrying water cans paralyzed learning at the institution before barricading the main road to the education offices.
At the offices, Assistant County Commissioner Veronicah Wangui's efforts to have them settle failed as they demanded to present a petition to the government.
"We have seen an official but this matter will not be solved until the relevant authorities are reached. We shall camp here until we strike a mutual agreement," Nyabwari added.
Efforts to reach headmaster Nelson Onchagwa were futile with his phone remaining off line until the time of going to press.
