The High Court has issued orders barring police from arresting National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders who took part in opposition leader Raila Odinga's inauguration last week.
Through lawyer Nelson Havi, 12 leaders from the coalition moved to court seeking anticipatory bail for fear that may be arrested.
The leaders who have been granted bail include Senators James Orengo, George Khaniri, and Cleophas Malala.
Governor Hassan Joho, MPs George Aladwa, Simba Arati, Gladys Wanga, and Babu Owino together with David Ndii, Norman Magaya, Oduor On'gwen and Jimmy Wanjigi were all granted anticipatory bail of Sh100,000 each.
The court directed that they report to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Thursday.
The move by the twelve leaders comes amid a crackdown by the state on leaders who attended the inauguration.
Last week three members of the coalition were arrested.
