Residents of Butula in Busia County have taken to the streets protesting an incident in which an Administration Police Officer shot dead a bodaboda rider.

Sources told this writer the AP officer had tried to stop the motorcyclist after he allegedly knocked a class two pupil who was going to school.

This prompted the man in uniform to pull the trigger against the rider killing him on the spot.

Residents took to the street in protest demanding the officer's arrest before torching the police post.

Police officers from Busia police station used teargas canisters to disperse the rioting residents.

The whereabouts of the killer man are still not known following the burning down of the police post.
