A police officer attached to the escort of Deputy President William Ruto has died.

The DP's motorcycle outrider died Saturday morning along Wangari Maathai Road after an accident.

According to Nation, the officer lost control of the bike before falling and succumbing to the injuries. 

The DP was on his way to attend a funeral service in Kiambu County.
