President Uhuru Kenyatta has named his part of his cabinet where he has retained six cabinet secretaries.
The president said, "Today I would want to name a few of those who will be working with me."
Those who have survived the chopping board include Treasury CS Henry Rotich, Tourism CS Najib Balala, Transport CS James Macharia, Interior and Coordination of Government CS Fred Matiang'i who is also acting as Education CS, Energy CS Charles Keter and ICT CS Joseph (Joe) Mucheru.
Uhuru has also announced several other appointments to different positions who will be instrumental in fulfilling his 'Big Four' agenda this term which is also his last.
The Head of Public Service remains Joseph Kinyua deputised by Wanyama Musiambo, Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita, State House Comptroller is former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.
John Munyes, Ukur Yattani, Keriako Tobiko have been proposed as CS' with their names being forwarded to parliament for approval. Uhuru said he had accepted Tobiko's resignation letter.
Lawrence Lenayapa has been proposed as the
Ambassador to the Netherlands.
The president also gave several names of those who have been redeployed in the police service, public service and other departments.
Deputy President William Ruto was missing at the State House address held at 1545hrs.
The tough-talking president also highlighted that the education sector has received enough money which will not be misused saying it has to be 'prudently' utilised.
