The High Court in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga county has dismissed an election petition filed by former Kirinyaga gubernatorial candidate Martha Karua.
Karua sought to challenge the election of former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru as the county's second governor in the August 8 general election.
On Wednesday, the judged termed the case "hopeless, defective and incurable."
Waiguru had dismissed the petition and accused the Narc Kenya party leader of siding with the Opposition, hence her decision to file the petition, immediately after the Supreme Court annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election, giving the Opposition a win.She said Karua had compiled evidence used by the Opposition, NASA, to contest Kenyatta's win, with aims to ask the court to nullify her as the second Kirinyaga governor."I said it from the word go, that this mother was not our own. She was on the other side, but she was just playing with our minds. You have now seen what she is up to. I knew it and I said it," said Waiguru.
