The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights is warning the rampant cases of bribery witnessed during the party primaries will deal a great blow to democracy in this country.According to the KNCHR, Bungoma County recorded the highest cases of bribery at 25% followed closely by Nairobi at 17%.Jubilee party according to the KNCHR report had the highest cases of bribery followed ODM.But security agents earned accolades from the human rights crusader for indiscriminately securing the party primaries.Cases of violence especially to women were also captured in the KNCHR report, with the commission promising to forward to the Director of public prosecutions the documented cases for further action.The commission also noted shortfalls in the primaries which include lack of sufficient voting materials, absence of party membership list and misuse of public resources by some aspirants.Indications that the just concluded party nominations was a do or die exercise were evident with the number of petitions filed before the political parties disputes tribunal and the number of candidates who opted to go independent.
