Busia governor Sospeter Ojaamong’ insists he won the April 13, ODM gubernatorial primaries, saying they were conducted in a free, fair manner.
The returning officer, declared Ojaamong' the winner with 92,358 votes beating his political rival Funyula MP, Paul Otuoma who garnered 63,752.
However, the ODM National Elections Board nullified the results few hours later, citing irregularities.
Otuoma also rubbished the results saying they were doctored.
Speaking at Bukalamain, Matayos constituency, Ojaamong’ said he was still ready to face Otuoma for a second time and expressed confidence he would win again.
“The elections were free and fair. Those who won are here, and those who lose we want to hold them and move together as Busia family,” said Ojaamong’.
“We are ready even tomorrow if they will say we repeat. I don’t see if there is any problem,” he added.
The repeat of the Busia ODM gubernatorial nominations are set for April 25.
