The Opposition coalition National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have affirmed their readiness and preparedness for the August polls.

Speaking on Sunday, the leaders refuted claims by President Uhuru Kenyatta that the Opposition was plotting to have the August polls postponed, insisting that they were ready for the elections.

“We have no intention to delay the elections,’’ NASA Deputy presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka said.

Kalonzo's remarks came hours after President Kenyatta had cautioned the Judiciary not to aid NASA's plan to sabotage the elections.

Speaking on Sunday in Baringo, Uhuru had alleged a wider scheme by NASA to derail the electoral process, maintaining that the August polls must be held as planned.

"We have been silent for a while now because of respect. As Jubilee, we are ready to accept people's decision through their votes," he said.

The next general elections have been slated for August 8.
