London has warned her citizens against travelling to Kenya for the rest of next week citing possible violence during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s inauguration.
Through Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Britain says violence could erupt in Kenya due to standoff between the opposition and government.
“Political tensions are high and demonstrations and clashes are possible throughout the country particularly in western region,” read the statement.
Already, top world leaders have confirmed participation among them Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a day when opposition will be holding a major rally.
However, for the citizens already in the country, Britain has given a clean bill of health for them to visit tourist attraction sites.
“Those in Kenya can however visit all National Parks and if possible, all coastal regions because they are safe,” added the statement.
At Kisumu, Governor Peter Nyong’o has banned demonstrations in the city that has been at the center stage of demonstrations across the country.
