An inquest into the death of the son of a British aristocrat on Monday heard that he was banned from a restaurant in Diani following allegations that he was carrying drugs.The court heard that Mr Alexander John Ruman Monson was banned from Ali Barbour restaurant after he was allegedly found to be carrying drugs to the establishment.The proprietor of Ali Barbour restaurant, Mr George Barbour, said he banned Mr Monson after he was made aware that he was bringing drugs into his restaurant.Testifying during the inquest, Mr Barbour said he had raised the issue with Monson’s mother and that he banned him verbally from his restaurant before a letter was written to him.He further told DPP Alexander Muteti that he did not want to involve the police because he thought they could sort the issue with Mr Monson.He, however, said that he never saw the deceased taking drugs.Mr Monson died on May 19, 2012, after he was arrested on suspicion of smoking bhang after a night out with friends in Diani where he lived with his mother.A post-mortem showed he died from blunt force to the head.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Mombasa County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
