High Court Judge L Kimaru will rule on Friday whether two drug trafficking suspects will remain in custody pending trial.
Jack Alexander Wolf Marrian and Roy Francis Mwanthi are charged for drug trafficking cocaine at Mombasa Port amounting to Sh598,330,800.
Mr Wolf was granted Sh70 million and Mr Mwanthi was granted Sh60 million bond by the Kibera Chief Magistrate.
They denied the charges on Monday.
Prosecutor Duncan Ondimu argued that there were compelling reasons to deny the two bond and the decision of the magistrate was erroneous.
He emphasised that the offences faced are serious in nature and attracts a life sentence if convicted.
In addition, he submitted that based on evidence adduced by the state it would be in the interest of justice that the two remain in custody.
