Allan Kairo and his brother Jeremiah Kairo are accused of attacking their neighbour, James Macharia, over rumours that he was in a relationship with a girl who the two brothers were eyeing.

Macharia told the court that the two brothers had earlier accused him of having interfered with their plans to date the girl and also not wishing them well when it came to them searching for wives.

The prosecutor told the court that Macharia was attacked on February 16, 2015 at around 9PM at Santon area in Kiambu County.

“Macharia got home at around 9PM and he found the two brothers talking with the girl at the Santon area entrance. They stopped Macharia and asked him to mind his business and look for another girl,” said the prosecutor.

The two brothers are said to have attacked Macharia using blunt objects and left him bleeding from heading injuries. Neighbours took him to hospital where he was treated.

Macharia later recorded a statement at the Kiambu Police station in connection to the attack.

The two denied all the allegations and were set free on a cash bail of Sh20,000 each. The case will begin on July 26, 2015.
