Two men believed to be brothers were on Tuesday morning found burned beyond recognition by unknown people in Kikomba village, Masinga sub-county.
Confirming the incident, Muthesya location assistant Chief Aloise Mwongela stated that its suspected a group of area residents attacked the two who had previously been suspected of murdering a woman.
"There are two men who we found killed and burned in my location last night and it's suspected the act was as a result of a woman who was murdered last week in this village," said Mwongela.
According to the area administrator, his investigation mainly points to the death of another woman last week which has in return led to a retaliation and vengeance by a section of the residents.
"I urge the residents to report any suspicions of wrongdoers to the authority rather than take matters in their own hands as it's against the law," he added.
At the same time, Dominic Muindi resident who was at the crime scene on Tuesday morning confirmed that it seemed like the two were attacked by an angry mob who had been tracking them.
"Am a resident of Kikomba and the two men who were killed are brothers. Many people have flocked the scene complaining of insecurity in this area, " he said.
The bodies of the two have been taken to Matuu Medians Mortuary by officers from Muthesya police station as investigations kick off.
