Kiambu Deputy Governor Gerald Githinji has called on residents to concentrate on development and avoid being distracted by engaging in protests.
Speaking during the burial of their uncle Patrick Ngigi in Limuru, which was also attended by his brother National Youth Service (NYS) director Nelson Githinji, Githinji called on Kiambu residents to work together to foster development.
“Let us work together as the people of Kiambu and not engage in protests as we saw recently in Thika,” said Githinji.
He, however added that the traders in Thika were back in business despite the wrangles that paralysed operations at the market.
The wrangles at the Thika market attracted the participation even of MPs Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu), Alice Nganga (Thika) and Jude Njomo (Kiambu town).
Governor William Kabogo condemned the MPs actions saying they should concentrate on developing their constituencies and also accounting for the CDF under them instead of participating in demonstrations.
The burial was attended by Limuru residents who praised the deceased for his humility, commitment and diligence in his work.
