Dental care is the most important hygiene people should be careful about.
People always mistake brushing regularly to good dental hygiene, not knowing there are lots of mistakes they do while brushing, which eventeventually affect personal health.
Here are some of the mistakes you do while brushing:
Bad brush choice
Hard to medium brushes causes your gums to recede, exposing the lower part of your teeth or your surface roots. Brushing this area will cause wear of gums causing small cavities. Consider using soft bristle brushes that can slip beneath your gum tissues and remove any type of plaque that has built up there.
Wrong brushing technique
Your brushing technique will determine how healthy your teeth are. People always assume that their back teeth are clean and concentrate brushing the front seen teeth. However, this will leave a lot of plugged in food particle in your mouth that will cause problems. Always ensure you position your brush in angles brushing from front to the back of the mouth. Position your brush so that the bristles will reach every corner of your mouth to remove all the embedded particles.
You don’t rinse your mouth
People don’t completely remove the toothpaste after brushing. This will hold back in your mouth harmful bacteria that will cause harm to your mouth. It’s best to rinse several times with water until there’s a reduced feeling of the taste of the toothpaste. Using a lot of water after brushing your teeth is always advisable.
You don’t clean other parts of your mouth
Many people only brush their teeth. This is very wrong as other parts of the mouth; the tongue and gums trap as much harmful bacteria that will cause problems to your mouth and body as a whole. Therefore, always brush every part of your mouth including the teeth, tongue and the gums, as they all hide bacteria and food particles that should be removed.
Wrong time to brush
Many people will only brush when they are going out. This is wrong brushing time as food particle will always be embedded in one’s mouth. It is always advisable to brush in the morning when you wake up, every time to have a meal and at night before going to bed. This will remove all the food particles and leave your mouth bacteria free.
