Speaking after hosting a forum on education quality and learning outcome in the county on Wednesday, Kinyanjui announced plans to further invest in learning institutions to facilitate good performance.

He said that his leadership will introduce a rewarding program for well performing schools in a bid to encourage and motivate both teachers and learners, further challenging school heads to focus on facilities that are vital for academic growth in their budget.

''The county government of Nakuru will find a way to reward schools that improve results, especially reduction of lower grades. We also ask schools to focus on improving infrastructure on their institutions and prioritize those that will improve performance such as laboratories and classes,'' Kinyanjui said.

Coming at a time when many learning institutions are in a rush to acquire school buses, the county chief discouraged this, noting that most schools are preferring luxury at the expense of primary facilities.

''We have noted some rush to buy buses while they don't have laboratories. Nakuru county will purchase courtesy buses that schools in the county can use. We have already procured two buses. This will help schools focus on projects that have direct positive impact on quality of education,'' he added.
