Kisumu County landlords have been challenged to build more rentals in anticipation of the September campus student’s intake.
Kisumu county quality assurance officer Amos Abich speaking on Tuesday at Kisumu hotel called upon landlords to construct more rental houses that would enable students have access to education especially those joining colleges within the town centre.
Abich argues that more hostels and rental houses need to be constructed so that young college students can get comfortable acommodation.
He challenged the CeC for education Jennifer Kere to put in place measures that will develop education by enabling them to access education without hardship caused by unnecessary reasons.
“We encourage landlords to invest more in houses that are hostel like to help in accommodating college going students,
This would improve the learning standards as available accommodation would lead more intakes hence great number of ambitious college going students getting attracted in furthering their studies” noted Abich.
Her counterpart Hellen Akoko also noted that hostels were very important asking locals to greatly invest in hostel building as it would attract them money, not only money but also it would raise education standards as they young college students would have proper security through access of accommodation.
